When traveling around Philadelphia, especially if you’re
planning an evening of clubbing or bar-hopping, taxis are a
wonderful addition to the city’s transportation system and are
for the most part very clean, reliable, and reasonably priced.
If you need a taxi while in the city, just stop at the nearest
intersection, wait around until you spot one, and hail it by
either whistling, pointing your thumb in the air a little out in
front of you, or otherwise grabbing the driver’s attention.
You can also arrange for one to pick you up at your hotel or
from wherever you wind up at the end of the night. The city has
almost 1,500 cabs, so don’t worry about not being able to find
one when you need it the most. Here are three of the city’s
most efficient providers, along with their numbers.
